このエラーを取り除くためにZLIBをインストールしなければならないと仮定しましたが、

この問題は、マシン上のPythonのコピーがZLIBサポートなしで構築されたことです。幸いなことに、ZLIBが必要な理由はsetuptoolsをインストールすることです。

yum install python-setuptools

と同じように進めることも、（さらに簡単に）easy_install -U bigqueryを入力してBQをインストールするだけです。
