UbuntuのLAMPPサーバーでMySQLルートパスワードをリセットします

Question

MySQLのルートユーザーに対して変更されたパスワードを忘れました。ルートユーザーとしてログインしていますが、
# /opt/lampp/lampp security
それは結果を与えます

XAMPP: Quick security check...
XAMPP: Your XAMPP pages are secured by a password.
XAMPP: Do you want to change the password anyway? [no] n
XAMPP: MySQL has a root passwort set. Fine! :)

パスワードをリセットするにはどうすればよいですか。確認するためにチェックしましたが、どのファイルにもパスワードが見つかりませんでした（を含む my.cnf).
