SQL Server Reporting Services 2005 - Generated HTML - Standards Compliance
Question
Looking for guidance as to the standards compliance of the generated html by reporting services e.g. XHTML, CSS, WCAG etc
Solution
Not even close
OTHER TIPS
To be a bit more specific, I looked at:
- H39: Using caption elements to associate data table captions with data tables;
- H43: Using id and headers attributes to associate data cells with header cells in data tables;
- H63: Using the scope attribute to associate header cells and data cells in data tables.
None of these seem to be followed by Reporting Services, at least for version 2008, which I checked against.
I posted a suggestion on Microsoft Connect to provide an HTML rendering extension that complies with WCAG 2.0. Please up-vote there if you like to challenge Microsoft to do something about this.
